The Garage Girl demo tape was recorded at Cosmic Ray’s Studio in the bands home town of Strangford, County Down, Northern Ireland, in February 1993. This was the demo tape that gained Ash the attention they needed to start a successful music career. They were signed to La La Land Records after the owner, Stephen Taverner (Tav), heard this demo tape.

Track 8, “Don’t Talk to Them” is absent from the artwork but appears on the tape.
