Sneaker

Let it split
In your spine
And you knew
That half the time there’s a fault
Through your heart
Keeps you down
Holds you dying at the start
You’re so young
You were wrong
To learn about it now
It’s too late
To come down
When the spark ignites your heart

Crazy
And young
You explode
It flashes into your eye
You can’t think
To see straight
When the burning hits inside
Don’t get up
It’s the pain
And it hits you down and down
Let it flow
Let it ride
Like a rocket through your heart

When the clouds part
See again
Like we did
When the storming parts
I’ll come for you
Then again
But until then
Stay in here on our own
But until then…
But until then…

When the clouds part
See again
Like we did
When the storming parts
I’ll come for you
Then again
But until then
Stay in here on our own
But until then…
But until then…

Song Notes

“Sneaker” was co written by Mark Hamilton and Barry Peak, Peak being the guitarist from Downpatrick band Backwater. The song was originally called “Easter Island” and was performed by a side project band called Sneaker that contained Hamilton on bass, Peak on lead and vocals, McMurray on guitar and the Backwater drummer. This was done as Tim was in the Rockfields studio finishing parts of 1977.
