I’d Give You Anything
The days seem the same
And you feel like your losing your mind
I tasted the danger
And went south of heaven tonight
I didn’t mind
She wasn’t into letting go
I didn’t mind
Cos she still was nothing like you
How can you lose when it’s waiting for you
You should come on
Cos its there for the taking
Waiting for you
The days seem the same
And you feel like your losing your mind
I tasted the danger
And went south of heaven tonight
I want to wake up
In the morning feeling fine
Just like you
I want to wake up feeling alright
How can you lose when it’s waiting for you
You should come on
Cos its there for the taking
Waiting for you
How can you lose when it’s waiting for you
You should come on
Cos its there for the taking
Waiting for you
Song Notes
Rick McMurray during the Tim Burgess Twitter listening party for 1977 in April 2020:
I remember this song being the last time Tim showed me something he’d written in his bedroom at his parent’s house so I guess that would date it to May or June 1995, just before things went crazy with “Girl From Mars”.
Massive Stooges influence on this one obviously. Originally more uptempo, Owen [Morris] got us to slow it down to give it a more sleazy vibe.
