Something Big is an EP by Sylver Tongue a side project of former Ash guitarist Charlotte Hatherley. The name of the project was equally inspired by Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials heroine Lyra Silvertongue and Japan frontman David Sylvian. Musical references include Tom Tom Club, Grace Jones and Talking Heads; Charlotte’s compelling and melodic vocals alongside riotous percussion and robotic guitar solos bring a darker, cinematic side to her songwriting. The track “Hook You Up” later appeared on Charlotte’s forth solo album True Love, released in 2017.
