Princess Six
My heart is a tempest
With blood and violency
Your love is a blessing
Taken to the sea
A pre-premonition
I pray for everyday
A fairytale ending
Against the ecstasy
My love has been denied
For the king has lost his mind
No mercy is received
For the cruel and jealous queen
And I will never know
How it really feels
To be with the one
That I really need
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
Merely a darling
Precious majesty
Stolen enchantment
Sworn to secrecy
Have you forgotten
The meaning of the dreams
Dreams they have found you
So run away with me
My love has been denied
For the king has lost his mind
No mercy is received
For the cruel and jealous queen
And I will never know
How it really feels
To be with the one
That I really need
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
My love has been denied
For the king has lost his mind
No mercy is received
For the cruel and jealous queen
And I will never know
How it really feels
To be with the one
That I really need
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
I’m out of my mind
’Cause I need your love
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ha-oh-oh
Nah-nah-nah, ha-oh-oh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, hey-oh-oh
Sha-na-na, ha-oh-oh
Song Notes
Mark said of the song during the writing of Twilight of the Innocents:
This track is a tough one to describe. It’s quite sectional. There’s quite a dancey bass line in the verses which is something we haven’t really done before and Tim’s 12-string has a really distinct sound that’s quite a feature.
The chorus is really in two parts. First it picks up rocking out for a while before turning into a pounding “Envy” style stomp. The solo section isn’t really a solo more as a musical part. The chorus is again very melodic as well as rocking like early Ash. Tim’s vocals focus on denied love in an almost fairy-tale storytelling narration. One of the first songs we arranged together as a 3-piece and one we think could well be a hit on the dance floors.
