Song Notes
“Isla de Encanta” is a song by Pixies that appears on their 1987 EP Come on Pilgrim. The song is sung in Spanish, and draws upon some of songwriter Black Francis’s experiences in Puerto Rico. “Isla de Encanta,” is an alteration of the island’s nickname, La Isla del Encanto (meaning “isle of enchantment”).
No recorded version of the track by Ash exists. However, Tim Wheeler played the song live with And So I Watch You From Afar on March 24th, 2012, at the Xoyo in London. The show was sponsored by Jack Daniels and saw Tim play a whole set of Pixies songs.
