Song Notes

“I’m Gonna Fall” was premiered live as part of MTV’s 5 Night Stand at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, on May 28th 1998. The band performed the track for a Steve Lamacq Evening Session on Radio 1, this version was released on the Steve Lamacq’s Bootleg Session Vol 2 on Tour compilation CD that was given away free with Melody Maker magazine in 1999. This same version was later released on the Britpop at the BBC compilation CD in 2014. The song was also used on the soundtrack for the film Road Trip. Tim said of the song:

Tim: That’s a love song, It’s got that romantic vibe we’re really trying to get away from. I guess deep down I’m a hardcore romantic, whether I want it to come out or not.

Tim: I pissed off an entire orchestra on “I’m Gonna Fall”. I got them to do this really fast bowing effect all the way through the song. It almost killed them and didn’t even make it onto the album.
