Love & Destruction
Information, pictures and videos of Ash's documentary film.
In February 2003 Channel 4 showed a documentary on Ash, which took a deep look insides the minds of all four members of Ash, the results were strange to say the least. Below is everything you need to know about the film, you can also watch the whole film below and find out for yourself.
The film was shot at the disused Sierra Leone embassy in central London in January 2003. The basic plot is that the band has been kidnapped and is being held in a secret location. The film sees the band subjected to many different forms of interrogation by the kidnappers. Everything in the film was done 'for real' and beautifully captured on film by French underground film directors 'Rojo'.
Charlotte was hypnotized and regressed to a past life, in which she is called Anna and has a son and a husband. She was then questioned about it and her experiences by the kidnappers. In the film she plays Chopin on an imaginary piano, in a past life trance. Mark is seen having demons exorcised from his body by clairvoyant Sharon Neill. Rick is crucified to a wall by two rubber clad females and then interrogated about religion and cloning. Tim is submerged in a sensory deprivation tank for hours and then locked in a room where words from his songs are scrawled over every wall and strung on wires that criss cross the cramped space.
The filming of the documentary also saw strange happenings. Once filming got underway, a number of things started to go wrong. Cameras wouldn't work, things would go missing and the embassy was held under an un-natural feeling of cold, dark oppression and tension.

A clairvoyant called Sharon Neil was brought in to see if she could lift the difficult atmosphere. On arrival she announced that there were 28 spirits trapped there. Some of whom had died under horrible circumstances. Sharon took two days to clear them, but once they were gone, filming became much easier and the old embassy soon began to warm up.
