Ash’s latest single ‘End of the World’ charted at a very disappointed number 62 in the UK singles chart last night. Apparently this was partly due to a packaging error. On Friday with physical and download sales the single was on the edge of the top 30, but because neither 7-inch vinyl’s had the correct bar codes, they were not scanned at the point of purchase and so did not count towards the singles chart position. The second vinyl should also have come with poster packaging, rather than just being in a clear sleeve.

The song is now likely to be the last single lifted from ‘Twilight of the Innocents’, though the band still plan to release the title track as an EP which will include four new B-Sides, to coincide with autumn UK tour. The recording of the B-Sides is near completion, with Tim laying down the lyrics when the band return to New York after their upcoming tour with Sportfreunde Stiller in Germany this month.

Ash’s final album ‘Twilight of the Innocents’ today entered the UK album chart at a rather disappointing number 32. The album unfortunately dropped a few places from it’s mid week position of number 28, and is the first time an Ash album has not entered the top 10.

Ash’s latest single ‘Polaris’ has entered the UK singles chart at number 32. This position may seem a little disappointing following ‘You Can’t Have It All’ entering at no. 16 back in April, but midweek charts indicated that with physical sales alone (i.e. CD and Vinyl) Ash were in the top 10 at number 8, while the single lay at no.28 with overall sales. It appears the inclusion of digital downloads in the singles chart is having a negative effect on Ash’s chart position.

The bands final album ‘Twilight of the Innocents’ will be out a week today on Monday 2nd July, followed by third single proper ‘End Of The World’ is currently set for release on Monday 27th August.

Ash’s new single ‘Candy’ has spent a second week in the top forty it has fallen from #20 to 34.

According to midweek sales Ash’s new single ‘Candy’ which was released on Monday should chart in top 20, current sales have it at #15. However this is likely to fall by the weekend, so if you haven’t bought a copy yet make sure you get down and grab a copy or two. Also the DVD release of the ‘Candy’ single is on a limited edition format of 8,000 copies so make sure if you want one you get it quick as there selling out.
