Ash have won the best single award for their top 20 hit ‘Burn Baby Burn’ at the annual Q awards. Other winners include Nigel Godrich (Best Producer), Radiohead (Best Band) and Manics (Best Live act).

The band who attended the event had a lot to say, with Mark claiming he’d have been just as happy had Weezer won the best single award. Tim stressing the eight month feud with Starsailor is over, and Rick proclaiming “It was Cheerleaders and their gussets readers were thinking of when they voted for us”.

As a result of the award Q have replaced the ‘Candy’ video with the ‘Burn Baby Burn’ video, vote for it on sky digital channel 453, selection number 447. You can watch the awards sponsored by Orange this weekend on Channel 5.

Ash have been nominated for Best Single at the annual Q awards for their single ‘Burn Baby Burn’, the band are up against other acts including Weezer ‘Hash Pipe’, Feeder ‘Buck Rogers’, and Stereophonics ‘Have A Nice Day’. Other awards are for Best Act, Best Album, Best Producer, Best Newcomer, Best Live Act and Best Video. Ash are set to attend the awards which take place at London Park Lane hotel on October 29th, others expected to attend include Travis, Muse and Feeder. The awards will be presented by Phil Jupitus will be webcast live by orange.co.uk and channel five will show highlights on November 3rd.

Ash missed out on Best British band at the Kerrang awards last night. Muse walked away with the award, while Feeder picked up Best British Live Band. Other winners include Marilyn Manson for Best Album, Papa Roach won best video for Last Resort, and Green Day bagged a well deserved classic songwriters award.
