Ash To Headline Middlesbrough Music Live

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 | Comments Off

Middlesbrough Music LiveAsh are to headline this year’s Middlesbrough Music Live. Promoters Ten Feet Tall, who co-ordinate the festival on behalf of Middlesbrough Council, have also announced that the festival will see over 100 acts perform across 12 stages throughout the town centre on Sunday, June 1.

Based in New York, three-piece guitar rockers Ash will be flying over especially for an exclusive performance at the festival. Graham Ramsay from Ten Feet Tall said:

“We’re over the moon to have secured Ash as headliners. They’re one of those bands that even if you think you’re not a big fan, as soon as you hear the hits, you can’t stop singing along.”

The last time Ash played in Middlesbrough was February 29, 2004 – the day Boro won the Carling Cup final against Bolton.

That day in Cardiff the teams ran out to Ash’s track Burn Baby Burn. The band replied in kind to their role in the legendary victory by coming on stage that night to Boro’s run-out music Pigbag!

Middlesbrough Music Live has established a reputation as a great place to see some of the biggest and best bands before they become household names, with the likes of Razorlight, Ordinary Boys, The Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party and Kasabian all performing in recent years.

Other acts performing this year include Helmsley rockers One Night Only who are making a name for themselves and the twin headliners of the rock stage You Me At Six and Cartel.
