Ash have announced the titles for all the remaining singles in the A-Z series. The titles for V to Z are as follows:

V = Carnal Love
W = Embers
X = Change Your Name
Y = Sky Burial
Z = There Is Hope Again

The band will also release the following subscription bonus tracks.

Ash have announced details of the next free bonus track for A-Z series subscribers. Those who purchase an A-Z Series digital subscription before midnight on Thursday 8th April 2010 will get a free Mogwai remix of next single in the A-Z Series, ‘Dare to Dream’

The band have also pressed 1000 limited 7” vinyls of the remix and are offering five lucky A-Z Series subscribers the chance to win a signed remix vinyl, all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is email ashcomps@ash-official.com, title your emails DARE TO DREAM.

For those that don’t win, a limited amount of remix vinyls will be available for A-Z Series subscribers to purchase, while the rest will be available through independent record stores for Record Store Day (17th April) and from the merchandise stand on the UK and European Tour while stocks last!

‘Dare To Dream’ will be released on Monday 12th April as digital download, as part of the A-Z Series digital subscription and on limited edition 7” vinyl.

Ash have announced details of the next free exclusive bonus track to be given away to those who purchase an A-Z Series digital subscription before midnight on Thursday 25th March 2010. The track, Empire Of Sand, was written by Ash drummer Rick McMurray. The band describe the song as follows:

Strap yourself in for a haunting ghost ride through the nihilistic mind of Richard Wilson McMurray. Empire of Sand is a deeply honest introspection of the crushing void experienced as one’s foundations crumble around a devastating life event.

A link to download the bonus track will be emailed to all subscribers on Tuesday 30th March.

Ash have today confirmed details of the bonus tracks that will appear on the upcoming A-Z Vol. 1 release. The tracks are all newly recorded, including a re-recorded version of Carly Simon’s Coming Around Again, the band originally recorded this for a radio session back in 1995. Ash have revealed details of the 3rd free and exclusive bonus track to be given away to A-Z series subscribers. Subscribe to the groundbreaking A-Z Series before midnight Thursday 25th February 2010 and receive an exclusive bonus track, ‘Night Terrors’.

Night Terrors will NOT be available anywhere else, the ONLY way to get this track is to subscribe to the A-Z Series now in the Ash store. The free bonus track will be sent to both new and current subscribers the w/c 1st March.

Ash have announced today that they will release A-Z Vol. 1 on the 19th April 2010 through Atomic Heart Records. The release marks the halfway point in Ash’s groundbreaking 26 single campaign the A-Z Series. Wrapping up singles A to M, the CD will also feature a host of bonus material. There will also be a limited edition CD/DVD format, featuring the A-Z Tour diary filmed last autumn. The band are currently back in their Manhattan Studio recording tracks which will complete the second half of the series. The A-Z Vol. 1 track listing is as follows:

Ash released the third single in the A-Z series ‘Arcadia’ yesterday. Frontman Tim Wheeler has posted the lyrics of the song and a brief introduction message:

Dear friends and fiends,

It’s great to hear Arcadia getting such a good reaction from you. This song was a little gift from the cosmos. One day this spring I was walking to the studio instead of taking the subway because it was a really nice day. Somewhere between Union Square and the Flatiron building the melody of the chorus started to evolve in my head. It kept going round in a loop, so I rushed to the studio to record a quick guide melody before I had the chance to forget it. It’s one of the freshest songs we have, we started recording it in the last session we did with Rick. I think it was in May. Then I started writing the lyrics on the plane back to NYC from the Kendal Calling festival. The recording was only finished a few months ago in August. We’ve played it every night of this tour and I’m looking forward to seeing people singing along now that it’s been released

Ash released the second single in the A-Z series ‘Joy Kicks Darkness’ today. Frontman Tim Wheeler has posted the lyrics of the song and a brief introduction message:

“I love that we’ve just released our second single in a month. We’re 6 shows into the tour and are having a blast. The Panama Kings have renamed the tour from A-Z to A-Dead. So far no casualties though.

Here are the lyrics for Joy Kicks Darkness to celebrate it’s release. The lyrics are about mortality with funeral pyre imagery and references to Ulysses. The title comes from a Jack Kerouac quote, I switched the first two words around.

We started recording the song a year ago and finished sometime in the spring. It’s so great to play live.
