Ash Talk To Radio 1
Wednesday, January 28th, 2004
Ash have been speaking to radio 1 about their forth album ‘Meltdown’ due out later this year. The full article runs as follows:
Ash have been recording in America and hanging out in the studio with them was none other than Foo Fighter Dave Grohl. Ash are working on new, heavier material and Charlotte is also working on her own solo projects.
It looks like mixing with the likes of Dave Grohl may have had an effect on their music as Tim explained:
“It’s actually the heaviest thing we’ve ever done. It’s kind of shock tactics, you know, it’s really in your face.”
“It’s not such a dirty two words any more, heavy metal.”
“We were real fans of Dave Grohl and he was hanging out in the studio… It’s the first time we’ve recorded in the States.”
“We were just playing air drums in the studio one day when he was listening to some of the stuff that was about the closest. That was a big buzz for me!”
“I’m not singing with incredibly tight pants on or anything, but it’s definitely more rock!”.
