Ash And Charlotte Hatherley Part Company

A statement on Ash’s official website has confirmed that guitarist Charlotte Hatherley has left the band. The post made by Ash’s manager reads: “After 9 years Ash and Charlotte Hatherley have mutually agreed to part company. The decision is completely amicable and they wish each other the very best for the future.
Ash are returning to the studio later this year to make the follow up to 2004’s “Meltdown” album. Charlotte is currently recording tracks for her second solo abum (following “Grey Will Fade”) which she plans to release in the Autumn this year!
Obviously this news comes as somewhat of a shock, there is currently no news on a replacement or if Ash will continue as a three-piece, all that’s known is that Ash will continue.
We at walking-barefoot would like to wish Charlotte Hatherley all the best for the future and will continue to promote and provide news on her upcoming solo album.

I love Ash, and think they can keep up their high standard of music, whether they replace Charlotte or not, and face the future as 3. They did it marvellously with Trailer and 1977. I love Ash when she\’s there. She is my motivator when i\’m learning to play guitar, i wanna be like her. She looks awesome in the middle of Ash\’s guys, playing her guitar, singing with Tim. I\’m sure all Ash fans will be sad to see her go, however Ash started as a three-some and so i\’m sure can now carry on as one.
